MATERIAL: Copies of Blog readings

PREP: selected vocab from reading, diagram of idea breakdown

PLAN OF ACTION & TIMING

  • Warmup (3A): 15 min, 2 Truths and a Lie, and: If you could hang out for an afternoon with any celebrity of your choice, Who would it be? Where would you go? What would you do? What would you ask them?(routine)
  •  Warmup (3B): 15 min, 2 Truths and a Lie, and: If you could change into any 5 animals, which ones would you choose? Why? Defend answers )rroutine)
  • Language One (3A-3B): 45 min Short reading (”A Brief History of the Future”, from Blogs, Wikis, MySpace, and More, 2007) & notebook documentation (routine: reading + questions + vocab + written response, group discussion)
  • Break: 5 min,
  • Language Two (3A-3B) : 30 min (notebook routine for diagramming an idea) How complicated is an idea? Diagraming an idea as a class (routine) (ex, hardboiled egg, etc), brainstorm more ideas to diagram,  break into pre-determined groups to finish remaining work
  • Cool Down: 5 min Reflection & Cleanup (routine)

PREP: a.) irregular verb prep

PLAN OF ACTION & TIMING

  • Warmup: 25 min, Irregular Verb Charrades
  • Language One: 35 min (Routine) Irregular verbs documented in notebooks (group work), conjugation, synonyms, use in context, definition, drawing
  • Break: 5 min
  • Language Two: 30 min: Write simple sentences using the irregular verbs in past, change the sentences with classmates and run the old sentences through Sentence Expander (that we saw on Friday) to create new sentences.
  • Cool Down: 5 min Reflection & Cleanup (routine)
